Assistance request for passengers with disabilities
Information for customers with disabilities or reduced mobility
As set out in European Regulation (EU) 181/2011 on the rights of bus and coach passengers, ALICANTE BUS STATION provides free specialist assistance to passengers with disabilities and/or reduced mobility who request it through any of the channels available to them. The station’s general information desk is also the meeting point for passengers who have requested this service.
How do passengers request the service?
Request assistance 24 hours in advance, through any of the following:

Provide proof of disability: passengers must provide proof of their disability and state the type of assistance required (travelling in a wheelchair, using a walking frame, assistance dog, needs a companion, etc.) They must also state the arrival/departure time of their service and report to the meeting point at least half an hour before the scheduled time.
What will station staff do?
The station will provide passengers requesting assistance with the following:
- Confirm with the transport operator that the necessary arrangements are in place for the passenger with reduced mobility.
- Meeting the passenger at the meeting point at least half an hour before the bus departs or arrives.
- Notify the control desk of the passenger’s arrival.
- Accompanying the passenger to the toilets, ticket desks and other points of interest in the station
- Accompanying the passenger to and from the boarding/alighting platform
- Loading and unloading luggage
How do passengers request the service?
- Notifying the station of the passenger’s arrival within the established notice period, where the passenger contacts the operating company first.
- Helping the passenger board and alight from the vehicle using lifts, wheelchairs, personal assistance, etc.
- Helping load and unload their luggage.
